Chipping Sparrows are a common sight in backyards and gardens all around Falmouth.  The Chipping Sparrow is known for its energetic song and string of chipping call notes.  Males typically broadcast their presence from an elevated perch with good view of the surrounding habitat. This sparrow has brownish upperparts, gray underparts, and a distinctive chestnut cap on top of its head.
