Made a stop to watch a Red-tailed hawk perched atop a utility pole on Surf Drive on Friday morning. The Red-tailed launched into flight a few minutes later in a high speed chase. The hawk swooped down as though attempting to catch prey. What a surprise to step onto the beach and then see a beautiful Snowy Owl next to a large piece of driftwood. The Snowy Owl is mostly white with some barring and has a large round head and yellow eyes.
