CF2C7959-001Quissett Harbor is another terrific location to watch wintering ducks.  One of the most frequent wintering ducks is the Bufflehead.  The bufflehead is a small diving duck and is commonly found in sheltered bays and coastal harbors.  The bufflehead has a mostly white body, black back, large dark head with greenish-purple gloss and a large white wedge on back of the head.  This Bufflehead was in a large flock in Quissett Harbor and took flight in beautiful light.
