The Greater Yellowlegs is a common spring migrant along the Falmouth coast from April until early May.  This shorebird is typically found in salt marshes and on mud flats.  Its larger size and yellow legs distinguish this grayish brown shorebird from most others.  This Greater Yellowlegs was found recently in a small flock while feeding in a shallow wetland along the east side of Little Neck Bars Road in West Falmouth.
