CF2C3493-001The Eastern Kingbird is a common breeding bird in Falmouth.  A member of the flycatcher family of birds, they sit on a branch or exposed perch and dart back and forth to catch flying insects.  They typically arrive in May and make a nest in a variety of open habitats usually with a stream or pond nearby. The Eastern Kingbird has blue-black back and wings, a white-tipped tail, white underparts, and a short thick bill.  This Kingbird was recently seen at Long Pond in Falmouth.
