The Great Egret is a tall white heron with a graceful neck, long black legs and feet. It also has a long pointed yellow bill and yellow eyes. The Great Egret is frequently foraging for food in local marshes. It uses a stalking method to strike and capture fish. During breeding season, this Egret has bright green lores, located between the upper part of the bill and the eyes. This Egret was recently seen foraging along one of the tidal creeks in the early morning at Great Sippewissett Marsh.
