The Great Egret is a tall and elegant wading bird found in wide range of freshwater and marine wetlands and marshes in Falmouth..  They forage mostly for fish by walking slowly or standing still in shallow water.  After the breeding season, they gather with other egrets and herons in roosting locations like Great Sippewissett Marsh before they start their southern migration.  The Great Egret has dazzling white plumage, a long yellow bill, yellow eyes along with black legs and feet.
