Wrens are small brown songbirds.  House Wrens are especially known for their bubbly song and energetic presence.  They frequently make a home in backyard nest boxes.  House Wrens normally arrive around late April and depart later in the fall after the breeding season.  This late straggler was recently observed at Crane WMA.  House Wrens pale grayish underparts, brownish gray barred upperparts, a thin slightly curved bill and a narrow pale eye ring.
