This time of year we usually see the last wave of migrating warblers move through the area. In this final wave are large numbers of Yellow-rumped Warblers. They are one of the most common warblers and may be seen in flocks of hundreds at a time. This warbler has brownish gray upperparts with yellow side patches and a yellow rump patch. Large numbers were seen feasting on juniper berries this past weekend near the bike path in West Falmouth.
