The wetland puddle near back of Teaticket Park is a regular location for dabbling ducks. Just before the puddle became frozen over, a Green-winged Teal was seen among the many mallards. This teal is the smallest of the dabbling ducks and hangs around local ponds and marshy wetlands until the cold winter weather sets in. The Green-winged Teal has a cinnamon colored head, an iridescent green stripe from the eye to the back of the neck, gray sides, and a green patch on its wings.
