It was a cold, dark, and snowy day this past Saturday for the annual Christmas Bird Count. Among the many species in the “wonderful surprise” category from part of the Buzzards Bay CBC was a majestic Snowy Owl. The team members made the observation on Stony Point Dike located in Wareham. Stony Point Dike is a man made strip of land that stretches out two miles SW into Buzzards Bay. A record movement of Snowy Owls has been taking place over the past three weeks.
