4L6T8580-002Turkey Vultures are a regular sight during the summer months on Cape Cod. They are known to overwinter on Cape Cod in very small numbers. A handful of Turkey Vultures were recently observed near the Bourne Bridge just before sunset. They are most often seen in soaring flight high overhead with two-tone, black and silver-gray underwing colors. They circle over treetops and up to 200 feet searching for prey by smell and sight. The Turkey Vulture has brownish black feathers, long wings and long tail, a small bare red head, and a slightly hooked white bill.
