The Yellow-rumped Warbler is one of the most common and widespread warblers. They are frequently seen eating bayberries as they pass through Falmouth during fall migration. This warbler is also a fairly common winter resident especially on the Cape. A medium sized warbler, the yellow-rumped has blue-gray upper parts, a yellow shoulder patch and yellow rump. This one was recently observed in a thicket along the Shining Sea bike path.
